Clasp is a mission-driven, venture-backed fintech startup transforming access to education and career pathways by enabling employers to invest in future talent and ease student debt burdens. The company creates lasting bonds between employers and employees while building a more sustainable, equitable, and skilled workforce. Fresh off Series B funding, Clasp is a Forbes Fintech 50 company and has been recognized by Business Insider as a top healthcare startup to watch. As a University Partnership Development Associate, you will be responsible for building and managing relationships with universities to develop deep partnerships and drive awareness of Clasp's offerings. You'll engage program directors, career services contacts, and financial aid offices to secure active, ongoing communication of Clasp opportunities to their students. This is a high-volume sales role with 60% of time dedicated to cold outreach and 40% to building and nurturing existing relationships, with clear weekly and quarterly targets. You'll spend most of your time on phone calls and virtual meetings with school contacts, managing a pipeline of partner institutions from initial outreach through active distribution. Key responsibilities include conducting one-on-one calls with school administrators and program directors, executing daily outbound outreach (calls, emails, follow-ups) to build new distribution partnerships, creating distribution plans with schools, executing campus visits and career fairs, securing testimonials from partner institutions, exploring creative partnerships, maintaining accurate CRM records, partnering with marketing on co-branded materials, and reporting on outreach activity and pipeline health. The role requires up to 40% travel to visit schools in person, meet with administrators and students, and attend career fairs. There is also a requirement to travel to full company meet-ups 3 times per year. You should have 2-3+ years of experience in outreach, business development, partnerships, or higher-education engagement. Essential skills include comfort with high-volume outreach and structured follow-up, excellent verbal and written communication with storytelling and persuasion abilities, strong relationship-building skills, organizational skills, data fluency with CRM dashboards, familiarity with HubSpot or similar CRM platforms, and experience partnering with marketing teams on conversion-driving assets.
