Kindred is a members-only home swapping platform that has grown to 300,000+ members across 150+ cities since 2022. The company has raised over $150M from top-tier investors including Andreessen Horowitz, Index Ventures, and NEA, and is led by co-founders from Opendoor's early team.
You will join Kindred's established Trust & Safety team as a manager responsible for deepening risk understanding and governance across the marketplace. This role sits at the intersection of analysis and policy, with two core focus areas:
**Policy & Governance:** Own the creation, iteration, and maintenance of Trust & Safety and integrity policies. Develop policies for emerging risks informed by incident trends and regulatory developments. Define enforcement standards and decision frameworks for operations teams. Shape and eventually own the appeals framework, using appeal outcomes as signals of policy clarity. Ensure policies remain internally consistent, aligned with Terms of Service, and regularly reviewed against real-world incidents. Maintain a clear policy change log and governance process. Co-own QA and calibration processes with Operations Enablement, ensuring policy changes translate into training, workflows, and tooling.
**Risk Intelligence & Insights:** Own trend analysis and regular risk reporting across incidents, reports, enforcement actions, and appeals. Monitor and develop member and vendor risk signals in partnership with cross-functional teams. Identify emerging harms early and size their potential impact. Lead root-cause analysis on significant incidents and recurring issues. Deliver clear, data-backed recommendations to Product, Policy, and Operations, and track adoption and effectiveness. Translate complex risk findings into crisp narratives for leadership.
**Marketplace Integrity:** Contribute to fraud and abuse detection through pattern and link analysis. Investigate referral, promo, and booking abuse. Partner with Product and Policy on mitigations addressing root causes.
You'll have executive support, meaningful scope, and a direct line to decisions shaping marketplace growth. The role offers a remote-first environment with flexibility to work from anywhere, plus opportunities for in-person collaboration at Kindred HQ in San Francisco.
