The company operates a major marketplace for buying, selling, advertising, and leasing cars, with nearly £3bn in annual transaction value. Following the 2024 acquisition of Autovia (AutoExpress and Evo magazines), carwow now reaches over 350 million annually across web, print, and YouTube (10m subscribers). The Transactional Financial Controller owns the full Accounts Payable, Billing, Credit Control, and banking operations across the group. This hybrid London-based role combines hands-on operational leadership with responsibility for driving system-led improvement and efficiency across the finance systems landscape. Key responsibilities include: Full management of AP, Billing, and Credit Control functions with team leadership across London and Porto; oversight of banking and expense transactions with appropriate controls; working capital management and payment run execution; end-to-end PO system implementation and compliance; escalation point for AP/Billing/Credit Control queries; DSO performance improvement and cash collection targeting; AR ledger review and aged debt management; line management of direct reports in Portugal and London; partnership with Director of Financial Control on reporting and governance. On the systems and process improvement side, you'll support the finance systems automation roadmap, eliminating manual processes and delivering scalable operations. You'll own optimization of the finance systems landscape, reviewing and enhancing NetSuite integrations with Moss, Precoro, Abacum, Salesforce, and QV. You'll drive continuous improvement of finance system integrations and workflows, lead transformation of Billing and AP processes through enhanced controls and automated workflows, and support rollout of a unified Source-to-Procure solution consolidating procurement, ticketing, contract management, and expense reimbursement. You'll ensure alignment between NetSuite financial reporting and Abacum planning/forecasting models, establish finance systems governance through user roles and access controls, and partner with Finance, Technology, and Business stakeholders. Required competencies: Team management experience with 5+ direct reports; stakeholder management across Finance, Technology, Product, and business teams; strong proficiency with NetSuite, Salesforce, Moss, Precoro, Abacum, and banking tools; solid grounding in financial operations and accounting principles; problem-solving and system troubleshooting; high attention to detail for data integrity; technical and analytical skills with database understanding; high proficiency in Claude and Gemini AI tools; strong written and verbal communication; project management experience with system implementations; ability to prioritize competing priorities.
