CesiumAstro is seeking a Trade Compliance Manager to lead the company's integrated trade compliance program across Germany. This is a strategic leadership role responsible for developing, implementing, and overseeing export controls, customs compliance, sanctions, import compliance, Free Trade Agreements (FTAs), product origin, customs valuation, duty optimization, EU Carbon Border Adjustment Mechanism (CBAM), and applicable U.S. extraterritorial export control requirements affecting European operations. As the principal subject matter expert, you will ensure compliance with German, European Union, United States, and other international trade regulations while enabling business growth across defense, aerospace, space, telecommunications, and high-technology programs. The role requires deep expertise in trade law and regulatory frameworks, with the ability to navigate complex, multi-jurisdictional compliance landscapes. You will partner cross-functionally with Engineering, Programmes, Procurement, Supply Chain, Manufacturing, Contracts, Finance, Legal, and Executive Leadership. You will serve as the primary liaison with BAFA (German Federal Office of Economics and Export Control), German Customs (Zoll), the European Commission, and other regulatory authorities. This position demands strategic thinking, regulatory acumen, and the ability to balance compliance requirements with business enablement. CesiumAstro develops communication systems for satellites, UAVs, launch vehicles, and other space and airborne platforms.
