Salary: EUR 4,730 - 7,100 / annual
GoCardless is a global bank payment company processing US$130bn+ annually across 30+ countries. The Threat & Analytics Lead role builds the company's data-driven understanding of fraud and financial crime risk, working at the intersection of analytics, risk management, and business strategy.
You will bring specialist analytical expertise to fraud prevention, transaction monitoring, sanctions screening, and customer risk management. Your core responsibilities include analyzing large, complex datasets to surface patterns, trends, and risk concentrations across the customer lifecycle; measuring the effectiveness of existing fraud and financial crime controls; identifying gaps where prevention and detection need strengthening; and translating findings into actionable insights that inform strategy and investment prioritization.
You'll collaborate closely with Product, Engineering, Operations, and Data Science teams, as well as the teams owning fraud and financial crime strategy, governance, policy, and operational delivery. This is a senior-level role with high autonomy and expectation of measurable impact on fraud losses and business performance.
Key requirements include strong analytical capability with SQL, Python, and BI tools; experience applying statistical and analytical techniques to large datasets; ability to translate complex data into clear insights for non-technical stakeholders; comfort working across multiple stakeholders and influencing without direct authority; and demonstrated ability to take ownership, structure ambiguity, and drive work to completion.
Nice-to-have experience includes fraud or financial crime analysis in payments, fintech, or financial services; collaboration with Product, Engineering, or Data Science teams; and experience building or scaling analytical functions.
Compensation: €4,730–€7,100 EUR gross annually (including 13th and 14th salary), with typical offers in the €4,730–€5,910 range pending performance assessment. Benefits include medical cover, flexible working, generous holiday allowance, parental leave, annual learning budget, and volunteer days.
