Scotch is building a next-generation operating system for beverage alcohol retailers, combining POS, payments, back office, and e-commerce into a unified platform. The company is modernizing the $1.6T beverage alcohol market by helping liquor store owners run more efficiently through streamlined payments, inventory management, reporting, and day-to-day operations. The founding team includes leaders from Skupos (acquired 2023), Drizly (acquired by Uber), and engineering leaders from top technology companies. Scotch has raised $28M from VMG, First Round, Lerer Hippeau, Watchfire, and Toba Capital, with angels including the Drizly founder and early Toast executives.
As Sales Director, you will lead sales efforts across Indiana and Kentucky, selling a full operating system (hardware, software, payment processing, and e-commerce) to small business owners ready to modernize. This is a high-activity, high-reward role in a fast-moving company.
Key responsibilities include: selling the Scotch POS and operating system to liquor store owners; owning a mix of inbound and outbound sales activity with five days per week in-store calls; serving as the trusted technology expert for small business owner buyers, helping them understand how Scotch saves time and grows profit; and collaborating with onboarding and support teams post-close to ensure smooth merchant transitions.
You will be part of a category-defining company with real momentum and room to shape go-to-market strategy. Liquor store owners have been underserved by technology for decades—you'll be bringing them something genuinely better. As Scotch scales, opportunities grow in compensation, scope, and responsibility. The culture emphasizes low ego, high output, and no assholes—built to attract and keep top performers.
Qualifications: Proven sales experience in SMB technology or the beverage alcohol industry; confidence selling to and communicating with small business owners; self-starter mentality with a track record of hitting and exceeding targets; comfort in an autonomous, performance-driven environment; genuine enthusiasm for technology and modern sales enablement tools; experience working in the retail liquor or broader BevAlc space; must be based in IN or KY. Nice-to-haves include existing relationships in retail liquor or BevAlc, experience selling hardware + software bundles or multi-product platforms, and familiarity with POS, payments, or e-commerce solutions.
