Valarian Technologies is a dual-use technology company building secure infrastructure tools to address evolving global security challenges. The company develops Acra, a platform providing infrastructure-agnostic secure enclaves for protecting critical data in government and commercial workflows, including operational resilience, IP protection, disaster response, and zero-trust environments.
As a TechOps Engineer, you will support and evolve Valarian's internal IT function, ensuring it is secure, scalable, and aligned with the mission to build resilient, sovereign digital infrastructure. You will work hands-on in a modern, cloud-first environment while partnering closely with the TechOps Lead to strengthen compliance and security posture.
Key responsibilities include:
- Support and operate Valarian's IT environment, including device management, identity systems, and SaaS tooling across cloud-based infrastructure
- Design, implement, and continuously improve IT policies, standards, and processes for a secure, scalable organization
- Partner with the TechOps Lead to align IT operations with security strategy and support compliance initiatives (Cyber Essentials, SOC 2, ISO-27001)
- Support expansion and maturity of IT controls underpinning security and compliance programs
- Optimize endpoint management, access control, and identity lifecycle processes (onboarding, offboarding, RBAC)
- Evaluate, select, and implement IT tools and systems that improve productivity, security, and efficiency
- Act as escalation point for IT issues and build lightweight, scalable support processes
- Maintain visibility over asset management, device posture, and system health
- Support business continuity and resilience planning from IT systems perspective
Required experience:
- Proven experience supporting IT in modern, cloud-first environments
- Background in high-growth startup environments, including scaling IT infrastructure and employee onboarding
- Hands-on experience managing macOS fleets via MDM solutions (Jamf, Kandji, or similar)
- Deep familiarity with SaaS infrastructure, identity providers (Okta, Google Workspace, Azure AD), and zero-trust principles
- Experience working with security teams and contributing to compliance frameworks such as SOC-2
- Strong understanding of IT controls, access management, and endpoint security in high-assurance environments
- Clear communication skills and cross-functional collaboration abilities
- Proactive, ownership-driven mindset with focus on continuous improvement
