This role reports to the Director of Global Supply Management and sits within a fast-growing team at a venture-backed climate tech company revolutionizing energy storage with iron-air battery systems. You will manage commercial relationships and contracts with suppliers, collaborate with leadership, supply chain, engineering, and strategic supply teams to define and execute metal parts sourcing strategy. Key responsibilities include negotiating favorable commercial terms (pricing, lead times, risk provisions), managing the full sourcing lifecycle from supplier development through qualification and contracting, driving cost reduction and cost avoidance, monitoring category market conditions and supplier capacities, and ensuring Form works with best-in-class suppliers while mitigating risks through rigorous cost analysis, risk assessment, and industry trend forecasting. You bring a minimum of 6 years of strategic sourcing and/or category management experience in dynamic, fast-paced environments, with deep category expertise (2+ years) in metal parts strategic sourcing, market/pricing mechanics, and manufacturing processes. Experience with welded/fabricated structural metal assemblies, welding processes (MIG, TIG), fabrication methods (laser cutting, brake forming), and quality standards (AWS D1.1, GD&T, PPAP) is highly valued. You have solid understanding of commercial terms, contract structures, and IP concepts; fact-based, detail-oriented, data-driven decision-making skills; and strong analytical abilities to thrive amid ambiguity. Excellent communication and organizational skills, optimism, high energy, and collaborative relationship-building are essential. You hold a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Engineering, Supply Chain, Finance, or similar discipline and can work in the US with global travel as needed. Based at Form Factory 1 in Weirton, WV—a 550,000-square-foot high-volume battery production hub near Pittsburgh—this role offers relocation assistance and the opportunity to shape supply chain strategy at a company recognized by TIME, MIT Technology Review, and Fast Company for breakthrough climate technology.
