Formlabs is seeking a Field Technical Support Engineer to serve as the primary technical point of contact for customers across the UK and Ireland region. This is a highly mobile role with 80%+ travel requirement, where you will manage the complete customer lifecycle from equipment installation and commissioning through user training and critical repairs. Key Responsibilities: Installation & Customer Training: Travel to customer sites to unpack, install, commission, and calibrate new 3D printing systems. Conduct structured on-site training sessions teaching customers how to operate machinery, utilize software, and perform basic maintenance. Perform live product demonstrations to build customer confidence. Break-Fix & Maintenance: Respond rapidly to customer downtime situations, traveling on short notice to perform urgent repairs. Manage a preventative maintenance schedule, ensuring all warrantied customers receive service within 90-day target windows. Diagnose electromechanical issues and achieve single-visit resolutions to minimize travel and downtime. Logistics & Reporting: Execute high-volume activity across the region. Independently manage complex travel logistics including flights, trains, hotels, and rental cars, submitting expenses on time. Maintain meticulous records of installations, training sessions, and repairs in Salesforce. Formlabs builds 3D printing technology used by over 50,000 industry leaders worldwide, including Apple, Google, Tesla, New Balance, and NASA. You will be empowering customers to leverage cutting-edge fabrication technology for prototyping and manufacturing. Requirements: - Based in London, Manchester, or Dublin (highly preferred for hub connectivity) - Energized by travel and willing to be on the road 80%+ of the time; position is eligible for overtime pay - Strong technical background in electromechanical/hardware systems - Excellent soft skills and ability to teach complex technical concepts simply and effectively - Fluency in English at C1-C2 level - Valid driver's license (Category B) Bonus Skills: - Fluency in German or French - Passion for 3D printing and emerging technologies - Experience in rapidly-growing startup environments
