Plaid is seeking a Technical Support Engineer to join its Customer Support Team in London. The role focuses on helping customers resolve complex technical issues with Plaid's financial connectivity platform, which powers integrations for millions of users across thousands of financial institutions in the US, Canada, UK, and Europe.
In this position, you will manage customer issues from initial symptom through resolution, using internal tools and documentation to troubleshoot problems and escalating to Engineering or Partnership teams when needed. You'll handle 10+ customer tickets daily via Zendesk while maintaining quality standards, collaborate with cross-functional teams including Engineering, Product, and Go-to-Market, and contribute to process improvements and tooling initiatives.
The role requires a technically savvy, customer-centric mindset. You'll work embedded within engineering teams at Plaid, which maintains a high technical bar to ensure effective collaboration. Success in this position demands empathy, problem-solving ability, and genuine passion for supporting customers through complex financial services integrations.
Key responsibilities include interfacing with customers via ticketing systems, troubleshooting using REST APIs and internal tools, responding to escalations from GTM teams, and participating in cross-team projects to improve processes and documentation. You'll become a key point of contact for customers navigating integration challenges and will help ensure Plaid's products continue operating reliably for millions of end users.
The ideal candidate brings 2+ years of customer-facing experience, 6+ months working with REST APIs, SQL, CSS, HTML, and a coding language like JavaScript or Python. Familiarity with ticketing systems (Zendesk, Linear) and data visualization tools (Databricks) is expected. Preferred experience includes technical project support and process improvement work. Strong written and verbal communication, self-starter mentality, and effective time management are essential.
