Plaid is hiring a Technical Sourcer to build pipelines for Engineering and Data Science talent. You will own top-of-funnel strategy and execution across one or multiple technical requisitions, from market research and pipeline strategy through to qualified candidates entering the interview process.
Key responsibilities include:
- Own top-of-funnel strategy and execution for technical reqs across Software Engineering or Data Science, building the pipeline, engaging and qualifying candidates, and handing off qualified, well-briefed candidates to recruiters.
- Run talent research including market maps, org mapping, open-source and technical community research, and advanced boolean and x-ray search across non-obvious sources.
- Write personalized outreach based on what candidates have actually built, test messaging, and own response rates as a measurable metric.
- Operate at volume without losing precision, running multiple searches simultaneously with disciplined follow-up cadences, accurate ATS hygiene, and clean data.
- Turn research into intelligence by building market maps, talent density views, and competitive hiring insights to shape role scope, leveling, and search strategy with recruiters and hiring managers.
- Build diverse pipelines by design through breadth of research and inclusive outreach.
- Partner closely with recruiters and hiring managers on calibration, bringing market insights when roles as written are not findable.
- Track and report funnel metrics including response rate, screen pass rate, and stage conversion to inform effort allocation.
- Represent Plaid authentically as often a candidate's first impression of the company.

QUALIFICATIONS:
- 3+ years of technical sourcing experience, including in-house sourcing at a high-growth technology company.
- Strong sourcing research technique and tooling: boolean and x-ray search, LinkedIn Recruiter, GitHub and technical communities, publications and conference sources, and CRM or ATS sourcing workflows. Ability to find people who are not searchable by title or company name alone.
- Demonstrated success in high-volume, high-urgency environments, carrying multiple technical searches simultaneously without losing details.
- Genuine fluency in technical skill sets. Ability to read a job spec, GitHub profile, or research paper and make defensible relevance calls.
- Strong written and verbal communication. Outreach is short, specific, and human, with demonstrated ability to get responses from senior engineers.
- Data discipline. Use funnel metrics to decide where to spend effort and explain pipelines with numbers rather than anecdotes.
- Meticulous attention to detail and personal ownership of data hygiene.
- Candidate-first approach built on empathy, transparency, and consistent follow-through.
NICE-TO-HAVE:
- Experience sourcing in fintech, financial services, or another regulated environment.
- Experience producing talent intelligence or market mapping work presented to senior leadership that changed hiring decisions.
- Experience building sourcing playbooks or evaluating and rolling out sourcing tooling.
- Experience sourcing for distributed teams.
- Familiarity with inclusive sourcing practices and track record of building diverse technical pipelines.
