Swarm Aero is building the world's largest swarming UAV network and Command & Control software for autonomous aircraft swarms. The company is Series A-funded with a team of experienced aerospace engineers from Scaled Composites, Airbus, Archer Aviation, Blue Origin, and Boom Supersonic.
This is a specialized technical sourcing role focused exclusively on aircraft engineering talent. You will own end-to-end sourcing pipelines for structures, aerodynamics, propulsion, avionics, systems, and flight test engineers. The role requires deep aerospace domain expertise—you must be able to have credible technical conversations with aircraft engineers, understand aircraft design tradeoffs, and identify engineers who have shaped aircraft programs, not just worked on them.
Key responsibilities:
- Map the aerospace talent market comprehensively: identify every relevant program, team, and engineer worth recruiting
- Write outreach that demonstrates genuine aerospace knowledge and speaks directly to engineers' technical interests
- Build and maintain sourcing pipelines with measurable KPIs (response rate, pass-through rate, hires)
- Support recruiting efforts for other functions when aircraft sourcing allows, but aircraft engineering is the priority
- Conduct cold outreach and relationship-building across the aerospace industry
The recruiting team operates with high standards: deep domain knowledge, high-touch personalized outreach (never scripted), long-term thinking about candidate potential, and mission-first prioritization. Speed and quality are both competitive advantages.
ITAR Requirement: Applicant must be a U.S. citizen, lawful permanent resident, protected individual as defined by 8 U.S.C. 1324b(a)(3), or eligible to obtain required authorizations from the U.S. Department of State.
Qualifications:
- Must have hands-on aerospace experience: pilot, A&P mechanic, flight line technician, flight test engineer, military aviation background, experimental aircraft builder, or collegiate design team member who flew an aircraft
- 2+ years of sourcing or recruiting experience, ideally for engineering roles
- Deep knowledge of aircraft design: primary structure, flight controls, propulsion, avionics, and design tradeoffs
- Ability to hold substantive technical conversations with aircraft engineers about their work
- Relentless problem-solving: ability to find candidates when obvious search strategies are exhausted
- Comfort working in a high-bar, mission-driven environment
