Pronto AI is a global leader in commercializing autonomous vehicle technology, deploying Autonomous Haulage Systems (AHS) that automate operations in mines, quarries, and construction sites worldwide. The company delivers production-ready autonomy already operating in the field and is building toward becoming the world's first profitable AV technology company.
As Technical Program Manager for Customer Milestones Delivery, you will own a single tracked calendar of every customer-facing commitment across Pronto's active deployments and serve as the one consistent voice when dates are at risk or need to move. Currently, customer dates are scattered across multiple trackers and communicated by whichever team is closest to the customer. This role consolidates that into one owner, one calendar, and one voice.
Key responsibilities include:
**Milestone Tracking:** Build and maintain a single tracked calendar of every customer-facing date across all active sites—kickoff, go-live, ramp milestones, contractual deadlines. Keep the calendar current by pulling status directly from executing teams rather than waiting for reports.
**Early-Warning & Risk Flagging:** Flag dates at risk before they slip, based on leading indicators from execution teams. Develop judgment to distinguish normal schedule variance from real risk, so early warnings carry weight rather than becoming noise.
**Customer Communication:** Be the consistent voice on customer timeline changes so customers hear about slipped or moved dates the same way from the same source every time. Own hard conversations when dates must move—explaining what changed, why, and the new commitment. Coordinate with Sales, Deployment, and Customer Success to ensure the customer message matches what internal teams actually believe will happen.
The role is based in the San Francisco office with five-day-per-week onsite work required.
**Requirements:**
- External or customer-facing program management experience; must have personally owned a hard conversation about a slipped date with a paying customer
- Rigor to build and maintain a live tracking system across several concurrent sites without letting it go stale
- Proactive by default: flags risk before being asked, rather than only status-reporting after the fact
- Strong written and verbal communication; comfortable being the consistent point of contact on sensitive timeline conversations
**Nice to have:**
- Experience in a deployment, customer success, or delivery role for a hardware or field-deployed technology product
- Experience with autonomous vehicle, robotics, or heavy industrial equipment customer programs
- Familiarity with Linear or similar tools for pulling execution status directly from delivery teams
