Salary: USD 150,000 - 170,000 / annual
LangChain is hiring an IT Systems Administrator to join the founding IT team in San Francisco. You'll own day-to-day administration of the company's SaaS stack, from maintenance and configuration changes to access management and troubleshooting. This is a hands-on role requiring comfort with ambiguity and a strong bias toward automation.
Key responsibilities include:
SaaS Administration: Own maintenance, configuration changes, and license management across the SaaS stack. Administer LangSmith (the company's product) and use APIs to automate administrative work. Manage identity and permissions across Google Workspace, Slack, GitHub, Zoom, and Microsoft 365.
Automation and Tooling: Develop scripts, integrations, and reusable workflows using low or no-code tools. Connect systems through APIs and event-driven workflows to eliminate manual work.
Identity Management: Administer Okta and user access. Manage Okta group rules that define RBAC policy. Establish repeatable standards and automation for employee lifecycle, group management, application provisioning, and access reviews.
Client Platform Administration: Administer the MDM platform (Iru) to enforce policy configurations, patching, zero-touch deployment, and custom desktop environments. Automate the hardware lifecycle from procurement through recycling.
Core IT Operations: Provide hands-on troubleshooting and support to employees in-office and remotely across hardware, software, networking, and SaaS tools. Build and maintain the harness for the company's AI ITSM agent, including tools, playbooks, and knowledge needed for autonomous issue resolution. Write documentation and playbooks, using recurring support issues to guide automation priorities.
Requirements:
- 3+ years of experience in IT systems administration or IT engineering, ideally at a fast-growing startup
- Experience administering a broad SaaS stack including Google Workspace, Slack, Notion, and AI tools like Claude and ChatGPT
- Hands-on experience administering Okta, including SSO, SCIM provisioning, and Okta Workflows
- Comfort with REST APIs, webhooks, and API authentication methods
- Experience using coding agents (e.g., Claude Code) as part of day-to-day workflow
- Experience with macOS MDM platform and endpoint security tooling
- Solid networking fundamentals (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VPNs, wireless)
- Clear communication with patience for non-technical users
