Counterpart is an insurtech platform building the first Agentic Insurance™ system, combining advanced AI with deep insurance expertise to help small businesses manage professional liability and risk. As a Technical Product Manager, you will own the product direction for a Pod—a business area within the platform.
You will discover what matters by talking directly to brokers, carriers, internal partners, and customers. You will translate those insights into initiatives, break them into launchable projects, and write high-level product requirements for each. You will partner closely with an Engineering Lead who owns the technical requirements; together you produce a plan concrete enough to size, fund, and staff.
Once a project is funded, a Project Lead rounds out the requirements and plays them back to you for confirmation. You own the outcome, not the execution. You report to the Head of Technical Product.
Key responsibilities include: owning the Pod roadmap and business outcomes (tracking metrics, killing initiatives that don't work); planning work by breaking initiatives into concrete projects and writing high-level requirements; running product reviews to confirm projects solve the right problem; redesigning workflows with AI at the core (defining where AI owns the workflow, where humans stay in the loop, and designing fallbacks when AI gets it wrong); and driving adoption through documentation, training, demos, and monitoring usage data.
You bring experience owning a product area in insurtech, B2B SaaS, or regulated industries, with a track record of driving adoption post-launch. You have worked on products where core workflows were redesigned by AI, not just augmented. You have enough technical fluency to work closely with engineers building AI tools—understanding system boundaries, data flows, and trade-offs without needing to code. You are comfortable using AI tools in your own workflows, can translate between business stakeholders and engineers, and have domain curiosity about insurance (understanding the MGA model or motivated to learn it). You bring low ego, high EQ, influence without authority, and experience with distributed remote teams.
