Postscript is an AI-powered conversational commerce platform for Shopify brands, trusted by 20,000+ stores. The company is backed by Greylock and Y Combinator and has been fully remote since 2018.
The Technical Partnership Manager owns Postscript's technology partner ecosystem end-to-end. You'll identify and evaluate partnership opportunities, scope technical integrations, and drive them to revenue impact. This is a hybrid commercial and technical role—you need both the business acumen to size opportunities and the technical credibility to engage with partners' engineering teams.
Key responsibilities include:
- Own a portfolio of technology and integration partners from sourcing through launch and growth
- Identify and size partnership opportunities using merchant overlap, attach rate, revenue impact, and build cost; make clear recommendations on what to pursue
- Lead technical discovery with partners: understand their API surface, data model, and architecture to scope viable integrations and flag risks
- Translate partner opportunities into written specs and business cases for Product; represent ecosystem needs in roadmap conversations
- Partner with Marketing to drive demand through co-marketing, joint content, app listings, webinars, and events
- Build enablement materials so Sales, Solutions, and Support can confidently sell and service integrations
- Serve as escalation point for partner technical issues; triage what Support handles, what Product needs, and what you resolve
- Own quarterly goals for partner-influenced pipeline and integration adoption
- Build the operating system for the function: tiering framework, partner agreements, review cadence, and reporting
Requirements:
- 4+ years in technical partnerships, partner/solutions engineering, technical account management, product marketing, or similar role combining commercial outcomes and technical conversations
- Technical depth: comfortable reading API docs, reasoning about webhooks and data flows, testing in sandboxes, and engaging credibly with engineering teams (production code not required)
- Demonstrated ability to size opportunities and recommend against partnerships; understand that partner count ≠ revenue
- Experience in ecommerce or martech strongly preferred; Shopify ecosystem experience is a real advantage
- Strong writing skills (specs, business cases, partner briefs are core to the job)
- Proven ability to influence product roadmaps without owning them
- High attention to detail with process- and solution-oriented mindset; you build systems, not just relationships
- Track record of meeting and exceeding performance targets
- Experience with CRM and partner/opportunity management systems, preferably Salesforce
- Willingness and ability to travel up to 20%
