Hadrian is building autonomous factories to reindustrialize America, combining AI, advanced software, robotics, and full-stack manufacturing to help aerospace and defense companies build rockets, satellites, aircraft, ships, and other mission-critical systems up to 10x faster and at significantly lower cost. The company recently raised $1.37B in Series D funding at a $7.87B valuation and is rapidly expanding its manufacturing footprint across the country.
As a Technical Field Engineer, you will be the on-ground person responsible for bringing new IT infrastructure to life at Hadrian's expanding factory network. This is a hands-on, travel-heavy role focused on standing up IT at new sites and deploying hardware for new manufacturing lines at existing facilities.
Early in each project, you'll work closely with the Manager of IT Deployment on planning, scoping, and documentation. As projects move to execution, you'll be on-site performing physical work: racking and cabling infrastructure, deploying network and endpoint hardware, and getting sites production-ready. You'll partner with central IT, infrastructure, network, security, and helpdesk teams throughout the deployment lifecycle.
Key responsibilities include:
- Planning & Documentation: Partner on project planning and scoping for new sites and line expansions; build and maintain deployment documentation including runbooks, network diagrams, rack elevations, and asset records; develop repeatable deployment playbooks to ensure consistency across sites.
- Site Standup & Hardware Deployment: Travel to factories to stand up IT infrastructure; rack, cable, and configure network gear (switches, WAPs, firewalls); deploy and configure endpoints, peripherals, and shop-floor devices; work with vendors on physical security systems, AV/conference room systems, and office IoT devices; validate connectivity and bring sites to production-ready status.
- Vendor Coordination & On-Site Project Management: Coordinate and project manage electrical and low-voltage vendors; confirm cabling, fiber, pathways, and power meet specifications; serve as the on-site IT point of contact for Factory Development and construction teams.
- Logistics & Asset Management: Receive, stage, and deploy infrastructure and endpoint hardware; manage shipping and receiving of IT materials; maintain accurate asset inventory.
- Security & Compliance: Enforce Hadrian's security tooling (EDR, MDM, IAM); support CMMC Level 2 and CUI handling requirements; coordinate with central IT and InfoSec on compliance during buildouts.
You'll work side by side with the Factory Development team, who own the manufacturing machinery and site construction, so aligning IT deployment with machine installation and overall buildout is central to the role.
REQUIREMENTS:
- Willingness and ability to travel extensively to new builds and existing factories
- Hands-on infrastructure deployment experience: racking, cabling, switches, WAPs, firewalls
- Experience coordinating or project managing electrical, low-voltage, or structured cabling vendors on-site
- Experience deploying and supporting physical security systems (cameras, badge readers, sensors), AV/conference room systems, and office IoT devices such as printers
- Comfortable collaborating cross-functionally with construction, facilities, and engineering teams on the ground
- Endpoint deployment and management experience (Intune, Mosyle, or FleetDM)
- Networking fundamentals: LAN/WAN, VLANs, Wi-Fi, firewall basics
- Familiarity with Okta for identity and access management
- Strong documentation habits and comfort building runbooks, diagrams, and as-built records
- High degree of independence, ownership, and initiative
- Manufacturing or industrial environment experience strongly preferred
- Comfortable operating as a mobile extension of a distributed team
- U.S. citizen or national, lawful permanent resident, or eligible to obtain required ITAR authorizations from the U.S. Department of State
Differentiators:
- Experience designing and standing up greenfield sites or data centers from scratch
- Experience with the construction process and reading drawings; working with architects, designers, and general contractors
- Structured cabling and low-voltage coordination experience
- Experience deploying IT for manufacturing or production lines (OT, shop-floor devices), including coordinating with machinery and equipment teams
- Hands-on experience with physical access control, video surveillance (VMS), and building sensor platforms
- CMMC, ITAR, and CUI handling experience
- Ability to stay professional, detail-oriented, and self-directed on customer and partner sites
