Relativity Space is building rockets to serve today's needs and tomorrow's breakthroughs. The Terran R vehicle will deliver customer payloads to orbit, meeting growing demand for launch capacity. The company is at a unique inflection point—early enough to shape the product and culture, but far enough along that Terran R is tangible and gaining momentum.
The Supply Chain team turns design intent into executable reality, balancing lead time, cost, complexity, and manufacturability to ensure Terran R can be built and scaled. As a Global Supply Manager for Propulsion, you will work closely with stakeholders across Propulsion Engineering, Manufacturing Operations, Supply Chain Planning, and other functions to design and scale both existing and novel supply chains for sourcing and developing complex machined components that create competitive advantage.
Key responsibilities include:
- Lead sourcing and supplier management for custom machined components and major vehicle structures, ensuring cost, quality, and delivery targets are met
- Develop and execute supply chain strategies, including supplier selection, long-term agreements, and capacity planning to support Terran R build schedules
- Partner cross-functionally with Engineering, Quality, and Planning to influence design for manufacturability and align procurement with program milestones
- Drive supplier performance through rigorous risk management, contract negotiations, and milestone-based tracking
- Mentor and support team members, building expertise in precision machining processes and supplier development
- Act as a thought leader for machining commodities, continuously improving sourcing processes, supplier health, and program readiness
You will operate at the intersection of technical ambition and business execution, driving tangible progress to keep the Terran R program on track. This role requires both strategic thinking and hands-on execution, with full ownership across raw materials, capital equipment, and services.
REQUIREMENTS:
- Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, Engineering, or related field
- 5+ years of professional experience in supply chain, sourcing, or procurement
- Demonstrated experience managing suppliers for complex aerospace or advanced manufacturing commodities
- Proven track record of negotiating contracts and managing milestone-based agreements
- Hands-on experience with ERP systems (LN, SAP, Oracle, or equivalent)
- Knowledge of aerospace manufacturing processes such as CNC machining, 5-axis milling, turning, precision grinding, EDM, and tight-tolerance fabrication
NICE TO HAVE:
- MBA or advanced degree in Supply Chain, Business, or Engineering
- Direct experience managing machining commodities in aerospace (CNC machined components, castings, forgings, sheet metal fabrication, extrusions, etc.)
- Familiarity with AS9100 and NADCAP standards (specifically for machining processes), supplier qualifications, and audit processes
- Proven success driving supplier performance improvements through KPIs, recovery plans, and long-term agreements
- New Product Development (NPD) or Introduction (NPI) supply chain experience, preferably within aerospace or frontier technology industries
- Proficiency in supplier risk assessment, machining cost modeling, and capacity planning
- Understanding of material specifications, surface treatments, and inspection requirements for aerospace-grade machined parts
