ICON is seeking a Technical Account Manager to support adoption and implementation of ICON's construction technology across Texas markets. This role bridges technical expertise and relationship management, serving as the primary liaison between ICON, local building departments, design professionals, and customers. The Technical Account Manager will be responsible for sustaining regulatory acceptance and market standing in established markets, while opening new markets by mapping approval pathways and jurisdictional requirements. Key responsibilities include providing regulatory and permitting support to customers and sales teams, building and maintaining relationships with building officials and design professionals, and delivering technical presentations to diverse stakeholders. The role involves significant customer-facing support, including answering code and product questions, providing technical sales support throughout the sales cycle, and serving as the first-line regulatory contact for customers and jurisdictions. The position requires staying current on regional code considerations, tracking adoption progress, and providing regular updates to leadership on market expansion, emerging risks, and blockers. Additionally, the role includes gathering feedback from customers and building officials to inform product and service improvements, and representing ICON's offerings effectively to external stakeholders. Regular travel throughout Texas and to Austin headquarters is required. REQUIREMENTS: - Bachelor's degree in construction management, business, marketing, engineering, architecture, communications, or related field, or equivalent professional experience - 6+ years in client-facing roles in construction, building products, or AEC (technical sales, business development, market development, customer-facing technical support, or design/engineering with direct client responsibility) - Demonstrated success opening markets and building relationships with customers and external stakeholders - Working familiarity with building codes and local approval processes (IBC, IRC, AHJ plan review) sufficient to speak credibly with building officials and design professionals - Excellent verbal and written communication skills with proven public speaking ability across diverse audiences - Exceptional relationship-building and networking abilities with demonstrated success establishing trust in professional and regulatory environments - Self-motivated and highly organized with ability to manage multiple concurrent projects and adapt to evolving requirements - Willingness to travel regularly throughout Texas and to Austin headquarters - Valid driver's license and ability to operate a motor vehicle for site visits PREFERRED: - Direct experience in technical sales or business development of building products or engineered systems - Bachelor's degree in Structural Engineering, Civil Engineering, Architecture, or related technical discipline - Experience selling or promoting technical/building products to AHJs, building officials, or design professionals - Established relationships with building departments or code officials in target markets - Familiarity with 3D printing, additive manufacturing, or advanced construction methods - Construction, building-technology, or design background - Deep experience with building codes and standards (IBC, IRC, ACI, ASCE) - Experience in design-build, fast-track, or integrated project delivery environments
