The Tax team ensures compliance across the group, managing sales taxes, deal structuring, reporting obligations, and tax optimization. This role focuses on the technical implementation and optimization of tax solutions within enterprise resource planning systems. You will lead the configuration and maintenance of tax modules within ERP systems (SAP, Oracle, Business Central), ensuring accurate tax determination across all transaction types. You'll serve as the primary liaison between the tax team and IT/ERP teams, translating business tax requirements into system-level configurations and functional specifications. Key responsibilities include managing integrations between ERP platforms and third-party tax engines (Vertex, Avalara, Thomson Reuters), including API connections, data mapping, and testing. You'll support ERP upgrade and migration projects through tax impact assessments, regression testing, and post-go-live monitoring. You'll analyze transactional data to identify tax determination errors, exemption misapplications, and reporting gaps, then implement corrective configurations. You'll collaborate with finance, IT, and compliance teams to ensure ERP configurations align with evolving indirect tax regulations. You'll maintain technical documentation including system configuration guides, data flow diagrams, and change logs, and provide internal training and support on ERP tax module functionality to finance and operations stakeholders. Required qualifications include a Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field, with 2-3 years of experience in tax technology with strong focus on ERP systems and indirect tax integration. You need hands-on experience with SAP (FI/SD/MM tax configuration), Oracle EBS/Cloud, or NetSuite tax modules, and experience integrating ERP systems with Vertex O Series, Avalara AvaTax, or Thomson Reuters ONESOURCE. You should have deep understanding of U.S. sales and use tax, including nexus rules, exemption certificate management, and reporting obligations. Proficiency in SQL for data extraction, analysis, and reconciliation is required, with ETL or data pipeline tools experience preferred. You'll need the ability to read and interpret system logs, API responses, and configuration settings to troubleshoot tax determination issues, plus strong project management skills with Agile or SDLC methodology experience preferred.
