Reflection AI is a research lab building open AI models to make intelligence accessible to everyone. The Talent Research team serves as the intelligence engine behind the company's recruiting function, mapping the global talent landscape and building networks with top talent across all functions. In this role, you will own a deep network and market expertise in AI/ML research and engineering, with a secondary focus on building out a new practice in the sovereign commercial domain. You'll be responsible for top-of-funnel strategy for the hardest-to-fill positions in AI, mapping the global talent landscape, building highly targeted pipelines, and partnering closely with recruiters and hiring managers to convert leads into hires. Key responsibilities include: • Owning and curating a comprehensive talent map for your domain of focus, including product market briefs, target lists, and competitive intelligence • Maintaining complete data integrity on all market engagement, learnings, and search activity to drive sophisticated analyses • Driving engagement strategies for AI Research Scientists, Engineers, and other niche roles through proactive referral drives, event curation, and conference attendance • Developing and nurturing long-term relationships with top talent in your domain, regardless of immediate hiring needs • Activating prior candidates and relationships when business needs arise • Partnering with recruiters and hiring managers to refine search criteria, deliver high-quality leads, and educate them on the talent market • Qualifying candidates through initial conversations to ensure alignment on skills, experience, and research focus • Tracking sourcing metrics, conversion rates, and pipeline health to continuously improve efficiency • Building and shipping tooling and agent workflows that provide leverage to the entire recruiting team • Driving tool adoption and measuring impact across the team Reflection offers top-tier compensation with salary and equity, stock options for all contributors, comprehensive health and wellness benefits, unlimited PTO in the US and 30 days in the UK, 22 weeks paid parental leave, visa sponsorship, and regular team building activities. REQUIREMENTS: • 5+ years of sourcing or talent research experience against highly specialized, low-availability talent pools (e.g., AI/ML research and engineering, complex GTM for sovereign sales) • Genuine depth in at least one domain relevant to Reflection, with demonstrated evidence of building depth in a new domain • Demonstrated experience with sophisticated sourcing strategies to target and engage highly passive talent beyond standard job boards • Strong communication and relationship-building skills with highly specialized talent • Detail-oriented, metrics-driven approach and comfort working in a high-velocity startup environment • Experience building with latest AI technologies (tooling, agents, skills) with evidence that something you built was adopted by others on a team
