Notion is seeking a Talent Management Strategist to join its People team in San Francisco. This role is central to Notion's evolution of its People function, operating at the intersection of talent philosophy, people partner strategy, and enablement.
You will own four key areas:
1. **Talent Philosophy & Operationalization**: Codify and evolve Notion's talent philosophies across performance, growth, leadership, career development, internal mobility, and early-career programs. Translate principles into practical tools, rituals, and operating mechanisms that People Partners and leaders can deploy. Ensure philosophies remain connected to business strategy and the evolving nature of work.
2. **Programmatic Enablement**: Co-build the talent enablement engine that equips People Partners to drive higher-quality talent actions. Develop playbooks, manager guides, conversation frameworks, decision tools, calibration support, and coaching resources. Partner closely with strategic People Partner leaders to identify enablement gaps and design creative, context-aware solutions.
3. **Talent Density & Development**: Bring craft and pattern recognition to understand what different talent segments need to grow. Design self-service strategies and mechanisms to help leaders develop talent, identify and engage high-potential employees, and enable leadership bench strength.
4. **High-Leverage Strategy Projects**: Lead fluid, cross-functional talent initiatives addressing the company's highest-priority questions. Historical and potential projects include early-career strategy enablement, total rewards exploration, role architecture for an AI-native environment, internal mobility pathways, and leadership expectations translation.
This is not a siloed program role—it is an extension of Notion's strategic People Partner and Talent Management organization. The role requires someone who brings deep talent management craft, strong business judgment, and the operating muscle to turn philosophy into practice across the company.
Notion works from its San Francisco offices on Mondays, Tuesdays, and Thursdays (Anchor Days), and this role requires in-person presence on those days.
**Requirements:**
- Significant experience designing, scaling, and evolving talent management strategies and programs (e.g., performance management, talent reviews, succession planning, career architecture, or related initiatives).
- Proven ability to influence senior leaders and drive cross-functional change without formal authority.
- Experience translating ambiguous talent philosophies into scalable tools, frameworks, and operating mechanisms.
- Strong business acumen and organizational judgment, with the ability to connect talent decisions to company outcomes.
- Intellectual curiosity and excitement for reimagining talent management in an AI-native world; comfort using AI as a real collaborator in work.
