Rocket Lab is seeking a Systems Engineer – Mechanical to join the Neutron team, responsible for developing a new large-lift launch vehicle. You will sit at the intersection of mechanical and fluid systems, working across Thermofluids, Propulsion, Guidance/Navigation/Control (GNC), and Structures to architect the launch vehicle and meet program objectives.
In this role, you will drive cross-functional integration to ensure mechanical and fluid systems work seamlessly together, proactively identifying system-level impacts and risks. You will work closely with design teams to verify requirements through analysis and testing, ensuring verification artifacts are properly documented and linked to requirements. You will take ownership of emergent systems that don't have a natural home, architecting solutions and driving them through design, verification, and implementation phases.
You will deliver cross-functional support to align Neutron's mechanical and fluid system designs with program strategy, requirements, operations, and technical maturity phases. This includes defining operating processes where they don't exist today and establishing process excellence for the project.
