Cross River is hiring an SVP, Head of Intelligence to lead the bank's intelligence organization end-to-end. This is a high-impact executive role reporting directly to the EVP & Chief AI Officer, owning the transformation of a multi-team function across data/ML platform engineering, quantitative modeling, and decision-science products.
You will own four core areas: (1) CRB Intelligence, the bank's proprietary intelligence platform and serving layer built on top of the enterprise AI infrastructure; (2) Data Infrastructure, including architecture and engineering of the data foundation, with senior architects reporting to you and a formal SLA relationship with the COO organization; (3) Intelligence Products, a new product line turning internal data into decision products for credit, counterparty, and market analytics with measurable P&L impact; and (4) Modeling, the bank's credit and compliance model development organization.
Success in the first nine months means: CRB Intelligence in production with automated, observable model development lifecycle; clean build/run separation with runbooks and SLOs; three shipped intelligence products with named customers and measurable decision impact; higher model factory throughput with a smaller, more senior team; and a clean integration with the enterprise AI platform.
You are a builder-executive with 12+ years across data/ML platform engineering and quantitative/decision-science organizations, plus 5+ years leading multi-team engineering orgs (30+ people) through platform transitions. High-pressure experience in trading desks, quant shops, or algorithmic houses is required. You are a P&L-first architect who measures success by commercial outcomes, not technical elegance. You have proven ownership of production ML/AI platforms at scale (model lifecycle, feature/data infrastructure, serving, observability), ideally in regulated environments. You lead senior, technically formidable direct reports and measure yourself on throughput per engineer. You understand model governance (SR 11-7, first/second-line separation) and build controls into systems from the ground up.
