General Legal is an AI-native law firm that combines experienced U.S.-barred attorneys with AI-native workflows to deliver high-quality commercial contract work faster and more predictably than traditional firms. They operate without billable hours, bloated process, or junior handoffs, using modern tooling and outcome-based pricing. The Support & Triage Paralegal serves as the first substantive touchpoint for incoming client matters and the primary support contact for technology issues. This is a hybrid role combining technical support, legal intake, paralegal work, and operations. Key responsibilities include: **Technical Support**: Act as first point of contact for attorneys and clients on platform access, login, e-signature, and matter management issues. Troubleshoot routine technical problems independently and escalate complex issues to engineering with clear context. Onboard new attorneys and clients to the technology stack, maintain documentation and FAQs, and flag systemic problems before they impact users. **Matter Intake & Scoping**: Own the intake process for all incoming client matters. Review submissions, assess legal nature and complexity, ask precise clarifying questions, and categorize matters by urgency, client tier, subject area, and attorney availability. **Paralegal Work**: Handle standard tasks independently including minor agreement revisions, entity filings, NDA reviews, contract summaries, template population, and document organization. Draft client-facing correspondence as needed and prepare matters for attorney handoff with clear summaries and recommended next steps. **Routing & Assignment**: Route matters to the right attorney or team based on complexity, specialty fit, and workload. Maintain real-time visibility of attorney capacity and escalate urgent matters quickly with sufficient context. **Tracking & Follow-Up**: Own the matter lifecycle from intake through resolution. Maintain accurate status in the matter management system, proactively follow up on open items and deadlines, flag stalled matters, and drive issues to closure. **Client Communication**: Serve as consistent point of contact for clients on matter status, timelines, next steps, and technical issues. Translate legal and technical complexity into clear, plain-language updates. The ideal candidate is legally fluent, tech-savvy, detail-oriented, and comfortable with variety and ambiguity. You thrive on ownership, have a low tolerance for things falling through the cracks, and can make sound judgment calls about what requires attorney attention versus what you can handle directly.
