Anduril Industries, a defense technology company, is seeking a Supply Planner III to own the supply and production strategy for complex hardware assemblies and product lines. This role is part of the Sentry Planning team and focuses on setting supply strategy—determining what needs to be built, in what quantity, and how far ahead of demand signals—to ensure annual production commitments and customer ship dates are achievable.
The Supply Planner III will not own the demand forecast but will own the supply plan that supports it. This is a strategic role in a fast-paced environment where demand signals move quickly. The successful candidate will solve complex operational challenges with creative solutions in a resource-limited setting and provide flexible support across functions to ensure products are built and shipped under stringent quality standards.
Key responsibilities include:
- Leading Sales and Operations Planning (S&OP) discussions for designated product lines
- Aligning production throughput and build plans with demand plans in partnership with Demand Planning and Production Program Management
- Owning end-to-end supply and production plans for assigned assemblies, translating volatile and incomplete demand signals into firm supply plans
- Setting inventory strategy and production plans, including safety stock, lead time offsets, production throughput, and weekly production work orders
- Sequencing build schedules and allocating constrained material across programs when supply cannot cover all build signals
- Protecting annual planning commitments and customer ship dates, pressure-testing risky requests and escalating early with options
- Driving recovery with cross-functional partners when supply breaks, coordinating with Material Planning, Purchasing, Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, and Production
- Reporting on supply and material health in a way that forces decisions, covering coverage, risk, aging, and excess with clear recommendations
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in a technical field (manufacturing, engineering, analytics, computer science, etc.) or business field (finance, economics, supply chain management, business administration, marketing, etc.)
- 3+ years of experience in a supply chain or production role within a fast-paced manufacturing environment dealing with complex assemblies
- Complete ownership of a complex value chain, coordinating between multiple departments and teams to ensure on-time deliveries and quality standards
- Strong analytical capabilities with ability to create and analyze complex models that automate identification of supply shortfalls
- Proactive approach with substantial responsibility across various functions, focusing on speed and accuracy
- Experience with ERP systems such as Oracle or NetSuite, and CRM systems like Salesforce
- Strong proficiency with Slack/Teams, Microsoft PowerPoint, and Excel
- Ability to travel up to 10% of the time
- Ability to relocate to Irvine, CA if not already local, with requirement to be onsite
Preferred qualifications include a Master's degree, SQL database experience with custom query building, proficiency in data analysis tools (Tableau, Power BI, Qlikview), technical expertise in reading documentation and understanding hardware manufacturing, knowledge of supply chain planning systems like Blue Yonder, familiarity with lean manufacturing and continuous improvement methodologies, and ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. TS clearance.
