Lila Sciences is building its supply chain function from the ground up, and this is the first hire into the discipline. You will shape supply chain strategy and operations rather than inherit an established process, owning the complete order lifecycle: confirmation, delivery, installation, and commissioning. Working with active suppliers and diverse research and operating groups, you will determine which product categories warrant demand planning first and validate those decisions. You will collaborate closely with Procurement, Category Managers, and the Procurement Specialist to create an integrated end-to-end view of supplier relationships, orders, and delivery—replacing siloed perspectives. Key responsibilities include: - Build an order tracking system spanning placement through installation and commissioning, designed to migrate into a future ERP system - Lead and coordinate the supply chain ERP proposal and selection process - Own the long-lead item list and establish lead times the business can reliably plan around - Work through aging open orders and provide Finance with a clean, accurate view of supply commitments - Prioritize which product categories receive demand planning and build consumption-based demand signals - Size blanket orders to planned build activity and establish a parts-on-hand model with FP&A - Run delivery and capacity cadence meetings with strategic partners, escalating when dates shift - Partner with Procurement, Facilities, Lab Operations, and Hardware & Controls on receiving and installation readiness You will thrive in an early-stage environment where priorities shift, where building simple solutions beats pursuing perfection, and where your judgment directly shapes how the company manages its supply chain. Requirements: - 3–6 years of experience in supply chain, demand planning, materials planning, or order management - Proven track record of owning delivery dates end-to-end - Strong judgment to prioritize what gets planned and defend those decisions - Strong spreadsheet and data skills; ability to translate transactional data into supply chain insights - Experience coordinating across suppliers, freight, and internal receiving functions - Comfort with shifting priorities in an early-stage function - Ability to build from nothing, starting simple rather than perfect Bonus qualifications: - Experience with Smartsheet or comparable workflow tools - Capital equipment installation and commissioning coordination - Background in scientific instruments, lab consumables, or regulated environments - ERP planning module implementation (NetSuite, SAP, Oracle, Dynamics) - Exposure to import, customs, or export control
