David AI is the first audio data research company, founded in 2024 by former Scale AI engineers and operators. The company develops high-quality training datasets for AI labs with the same rigor that AI labs bring to models. David AI recently raised a $50M Series B from top-tier investors including Meritech, NVIDIA, and First Round Capital, and counts most FAANG companies and leading AI labs as customers.
The Data Operations team powers David AI's Data Factory, transforming raw audio into high-quality training datasets. The team's mandate is to spin up new data pipelines and run them at massive scale—starting from a model capability, experimenting with different data shapes and collection strategies, validating with researchers, and then industrializing proven approaches into reliable, efficient production systems.
As Head of Quality Operations, you will own quality for every dataset David AI ships, including conversational, TTS, and transcription data. You will report to the Head of Operations and be based in the US (remote).
Key responsibilities:
- Own the quality bar across all data operations, including quality standards, calibration, consistency, and on-time delivery of datasets
- Design the quality review structure, organized by language and region, ensuring consistent quality coverage across all datasets
- Audit and review quality across languages, maintaining consistent calibration globally
- Manage quality in languages you don't speak through deliverables from native-speaker and cross-language gold sets
- Plan capacity against production ramps and own contingent workforce sourcing across multiple countries
- Build and own dashboards for quality, throughput, and cost efficiency
Requirements:
- 7 to 10+ years in operations, including 3+ years in senior leadership roles
- Proven experience running quality operations for large contingent workforce networks across multiple countries
- Demonstrated ownership of quality at scale, including calibration, capacity planning, and spend efficiency
- Track record of building systems from the ground up, from tooling to contingent workforce sourcing at scale
- Speech, audio, or linguistic data experience is a strong plus
