Apex is a fast-growing aerospace company manufacturing satellite buses at scale for commercial space missions. The company combines software, vertical integration, and hardware design to serve the rapidly expanding commercial space industry.
This Supervisor role reports to the Director of Accounting and oversees full-cycle accounts payable and accounts receivable operations with a focus on revenue accounting for complex satellite bus programs and service/integration deliverables. The position is responsible for accurate and timely revenue recognition under ASC 606, managing both point-in-time arrangements (hardware delivery) and percentage-of-completion contracts (studies/services).
Key responsibilities include:
- Overseeing full-cycle AP and AR operations including billing, collections, and vendor/customer communication
- Managing vendor onboarding, payment terms, W-9 documentation, and customer invoicing workflows
- Partnering cross-functionally with Supply Chain, Mission Services, and Finance to resolve billing, PO, and payment discrepancies
- Monitoring AP/AR aging, cash disbursements, and collections activity to ensure timely processing and strong cash flow management
- Supporting month-end close activities including reconciliations, accruals, and account analysis
- Strengthening internal controls, documentation, and segregation of duties for audit support
- Identifying and implementing process improvements and automation opportunities to support company growth
- Training and supporting future AP/AR Analysts
Required qualifications: 5+ years of AP and/or AR experience, proven ability to oversee full-cycle workflows in high-volume environments, strong process improvement mindset, experience with modern accounting tools (Ramp, Campfire, NetSuite, QuickBooks, or similar), and excellent organizational skills.
Preferred: startup or high-growth environment experience, aerospace/hardware/manufacturing background, and exposure to audit support or pre-IPO environments.
