Apex manufactures satellite buses (commercial spacecraft platforms) at scale, combining software, vertical integration, and hardware designed for manufacturing. The company enables earth observation, communications, and other space-based applications.
You will report to the Director of Accounting and oversee full-cycle accounts payable and accounts receivable operations with a focus on revenue accounting for complex satellite bus programs and related service/integration deliverables. This role is responsible for accurate and timely revenue recognition in accordance with ASC 606, covering both point-in-time arrangements (e.g., hardware delivery) and percentage-of-completion arrangements (e.g., study/service contracts). You will support core month-end close activities, ensuring proper treatment of unbilled revenue, deferred revenue, contract assets, and related reconciliations.
Key responsibilities include: overseeing full-cycle AP and AR operations including billing, collections, and vendor/customer communication; managing vendor onboarding, payment terms, W-9 documentation, and customer invoicing workflows; partnering cross-functionally with Supply Chain, Mission Services, and Finance to resolve billing, PO, and payment discrepancies; monitoring AP aging, AR aging, cash disbursements, and collections activity; supporting month-end close activities including reconciliations, accruals, and account analysis; strengthening internal controls, documentation, and segregation of duties for audit support; identifying and implementing process improvements and automation opportunities to support company growth; and training and supporting future AP/AR Analysts.

REQUIREMENTS:
Must-Have:
- 5+ years of AP and/or AR experience
- Experience overseeing full-cycle AP and AR workflows in a high-volume environment
- Experience working within manufacturing, aerospace, hardware, or inventory-driven environments preferred
- Strong process improvement mindset with experience helping scale accounting operations
- Experience with modern accounting and finance tools such as Ramp, Campfire, NetSuite, QuickBooks, or similar systems
- Highly organized with strong attention to detail and follow-through
Nice-to-Have:
- Start-up experience or experience in high-growth environments
- Experience in aerospace, hardware, or manufacturing environments
- Prior exposure to audit support or pre-IPO environments
