Stadium Vault is a fast-growing consumer app that digitizes the experience of collecting trading cards (Pokémon, One Piece) and sports cards, turning collecting into a game. The company has crossed 8-figure GMV and is backed by Union Square Ventures, KB Partners, Kevin Durant's 35VC, and the founder of NBA Top Shot. This is the company's first dedicated strategy hire, reporting directly to the CEO.
You'll work across the entire business—from financial forecasting and cash flow management to inventory strategy, unit economics, regulatory risk assessment, and new market expansion. The role is hands-on and high-intensity: you'll identify blind spots before they become costly problems, build financial models, negotiate terms, and drive execution. You'll touch five main areas: (1) financial planning and fundraising narratives; (2) inventory optimization and operational scaling; (3) tax, legal, and regulatory risk identification; (4) new market and partnership evaluation; and (5) team building and hiring strategy.
This is not a slide-deck role. You'll find problems yourself, model solutions, negotiate outcomes, and chase timelines until they're met. You'll sit at the leadership table at a high-velocity startup with real revenue and users, gaining unusually broad scope to discover which parts of the business you want to lead long-term.
REQUIREMENTS:
- 4–8 years in strategy, BizOps, or finance, ideally including consulting, banking, or PE followed by high-growth consumer, e-commerce, or marketplace experience
- Exceptional drive and agency; you don't wait for permission or perfect data
- AI-native: you use AI tools daily for research, modeling, analysis, and automation
- Fluent in financial modeling: forecasting, unit economics, cash flow analysis without templates
- Experience operating in a business with physical goods, inventory, or logistics (or eager to learn)
- Proven deal negotiation and comfort pushing for favorable terms
- Willingness to challenge leadership with evidence-backed counter-arguments
- Scrappy mindset; willing to do whatever it takes (from board models to packing boxes)
- Excellent written communication
- Familiarity with or interest in TCGs, sports cards, or collectibles
NICE TO HAVE:
- Experience with non-dilutive financing (revenue-based financing, credit facilities, inventory financing)
- Exposure to cross-border tax, customs, or consumer/gaming regulation
- Experience managing people or running a partnerships function
