Sierra is building an AI agent platform that enables enterprises to deliver better, more human customer experiences. The company partners with industry leaders like SoftBank, Uber, Rivian, and Sutter Health, and is founded by Bret Taylor (former Salesforce co-CEO, Google Maps co-creator, OpenAI Board Chair) and Clay Bavor (18-year Google veteran, led Google Labs and AR/VR initiatives).
As a Strategist in Agent Development for the Tech, Media & Telecom team, you own the complete lifecycle of AI agents from initial customer scope through production deployment and continuous optimization. You'll work with some of the world's most influential companies—global telecom providers, leading media brands, and major technology platforms—building agents that handle millions of customer interactions during critical moments like service disruptions, product launches, and major events.
Your core responsibilities include: owning the agent development lifecycle (scope, conversation design, tooling, evaluation, launch, and production iteration); serving as a trusted strategic advisor to enterprise executives, understanding their business goals and shaping AI strategy; partnering with customer teams through working sessions and day-to-day troubleshooting; and directly influencing Sierra's product roadmap by surfacing unmet needs from customer work.
Example projects include building subscription-retention agents for telecom/media companies, launching top-of-funnel sales agents that qualify prospects and convert interest, creating new-subscriber onboarding agents that reduce early-life churn, developing proactive agents that detect and resolve issues before customers contact support, and building media growth agents that drive content discovery and plan upgrades.
You'll need genuine customer obsession and energy for understanding complex enterprise needs and building trusted relationships. Strong communication skills across technical and non-technical audiences are essential. You should excel at strategic problem-solving in ambiguity, breaking down complex problems, spotting risks early, and adapting quickly. Technical aptitude is required—you'll engage directly with technical concepts, read API documentation, and work closely with engineers and product teams. The role sits at the intersection of product, agent building, and customer-facing work, requiring you to stay equally close to technology and the people you build for.
