Sierra is building an AI agent platform to enable companies to deliver better, more human customer experiences. The company has recently achieved FedRAMP High certification and is launching a founding public sector team to bring AI agents to government agencies. As a Strategist for Agent Development in the Public Sector, you will own the complete lifecycle of AI agent deployments for government customers—from initial scoping through conversation design, tooling, evaluation, production launch, and continuous iteration. You'll work at the intersection of product, technology, and customer-facing strategy. Key responsibilities include: - Owning the agent development lifecycle: translate mission goals, policy requirements, and operational workflows into reliable, production-grade agents that handle thousands of daily conversations. - Serving as a strategic advisor to public sector leaders: work directly with agency executives and program leaders to define success metrics, prioritize opportunities, and shape AI strategies grounded in measurable mission impact. - Partnering cross-functionally: run working sessions with program, operations, technology, security, legal, and procurement teams to resolve blockers and keep deployments on track toward launch. - Identifying expansion opportunities: understand urgent partner needs and develop roadmaps for new use cases—proactive outreach, multilingual support, long-horizon agents for multi-step citizen journeys. - Shaping product strategy: surface unmet needs from customer work, prototype new approaches, and influence Sierra's roadmap, market strategy, and repeatable solutions for government. Example projects include launching agents to improve access to benefits and services, modernizing constituent support with intelligent routing, enabling secure fraud reporting, creating proactive government outreach capabilities, and building repeatable platform capabilities across federal, state, and local agencies. You'll bring a track record of leading complex, high-visibility initiatives and driving cross-functional teams from ambiguity to measurable outcomes. You're comfortable engaging directly with technical concepts—reading API documentation, understanding data models and system architecture, and following engineering and security tradeoffs. You have a genuine passion for public sector work and belief in the potential of institutions to improve citizen outcomes.
