Sierra is building an AI agent platform that enables enterprises to deliver better customer experiences. You'll join as an Agent Strategist, owning the full lifecycle of AI agent development for enterprise customers—from initial scoping through production deployment and continuous optimization.
In this role, you'll be the strategic bridge between Sierra's product/engineering teams and enterprise customers. You'll own agent development projects end-to-end: translating business goals into agent specifications, designing conversation flows, configuring tooling and evaluation frameworks, and iterating in production. You'll work directly with customer executives to understand success metrics, then with their operational teams to troubleshoot and refine agents handling thousands of daily conversations.
You'll be a trusted advisor who surfaces customer needs back to Sierra's product and research teams, directly shaping the platform roadmap. Recent projects include building subscription-retention agents for telecom/media companies, commerce troubleshooting agents with personalization, and complex financial services agents handling regulated interactions.
You should have genuine customer obsession, clear communication across technical and non-technical audiences, and strong analytical problem-solving skills. Technical aptitude is essential—you'll read API docs, understand data models, and engage in engineering tradeoffs. Ideal candidates have hands-on experience building or deploying LLM agents in production, familiarity with eval frameworks, RAG, prompt engineering, and agent tooling. Founder or early-stage operator experience is a plus, as is a technical degree (CS, Engineering, Math) or MBA with tech/business focus.
Sierra is founded by Bret Taylor (former Salesforce co-CEO, Facebook CTO, Google Maps co-creator) and Clay Bavor (18 years at Google, led Google Labs and AR/VR). The company is primarily in-person in San Francisco with growing offices across North America, Europe, and Asia.
