Roadsurfer, Europe's largest campervan rental company, seeks a Strategic Procurement Manager to lead spare parts and component sourcing across its European fleet operations. This role combines strategic procurement planning, supplier relationship management, and supply chain optimization for a fast-growing mobility company.
Key responsibilities include developing and executing procurement strategies for spare parts, technical components, and accessories; managing defined commodity groups with accountability for cost, quality, and delivery performance; and analyzing national and international sourcing markets to identify new suppliers and trends. You will build and implement dual-sourcing strategies to minimize risk, conduct make-or-buy analyses, and perform total-cost-of-ownership assessments.
Supplier management is central to the role: you will select, qualify, and develop relationships with OEMs, Tier-1 suppliers, and aftermarket providers; conduct supplier audits and performance reviews; and establish KPI-based supplier scorecards. You will independently lead price, contract, and terms negotiations; manage framework agreements and service level agreements; and identify cost optimization opportunities.
On the supply chain side, you will ensure reliable spare parts availability for the European vehicle fleet, develop strategies to minimize vehicle downtime, analyze consumption data and failure rates, optimize inventory levels, and support new vehicle model introductions. You will work closely with Fleet Management, Operations, workshop networks, and Supply Chain teams.
Process and systems responsibilities include advancing procurement workflows, supporting digitalization and standardization of purchasing processes, maintaining material and supplier master data quality in ERP systems, and creating reports, analyses, and management presentations with relevant procurement KPIs.
You will lead and participate in cross-functional procurement projects, support the development of Europe-wide sourcing and supplier concepts, and collaborate with Finance, Legal, Operations, Supply Chain, and Fleet Management to ensure compliance with quality, sustainability, and regulatory standards.
The company offers flexible work arrangements (hybrid with home-office options), a one-month annual workation allowance within Europe, personal development through individualized growth plans and in-house academy, annual campervan rental budget, job bike program, and corporate benefits including travel industry discounts.
