VEIR is a designer and manufacturer of superconducting power delivery systems for AI data centers, founded in 2019 and headquartered in Woburn, Massachusetts. The company delivers ~10× higher power density than conventional options, enabling rapid deployment of power infrastructure for the AI era.
You will own the Terminations commodity — one of VEIR's most technically complex electro-mechanical subsystems. This role leads the contract manufacturing (CM) sourcing program, identifying and qualifying partners capable of supporting VEIR from early prototype builds through volume production. In parallel, you will manage VEIR's key suppliers for specialty termination components, driving lead time reduction, multi-sourcing strategy, and supplier agreements.
As part of VEIR's NPI stage-gate process, you own key sourcing deliverables at each phase: candidate identification, RFI/RFQ development with Engineering, supplier audits, PPAP quality support, and process validation. Success requires technical fluency in mechanical and electro-mechanical assemblies, hands-on supplier relationship management (including site audits alongside Quality and Engineering), and cross-functional collaboration across Product, Commercial, Project, Engineering, and Finance teams.
In the first 3 months, you will learn VEIR's termination subsystem and current supplier base, build relationships with key component suppliers, support CM sourcing evaluation and qualification of candidate contract manufacturers (targeting 4–5 commercially viable candidates per critical component), partner with Engineering on RFI/RFQ development, coordinate with Procurement on supplier onboarding, and join at least one supplier site visit or technical audit.
In the first 6 months, you will own the full CM sourcing program, develop detailed production RFQs following design release with manufacturing requirements and PPAP specifications, support Engineering during sample builds and DFM iteration, partner with Quality on supplier PPAP submissions, support process validation and run-at-rate studies, lead negotiation of supplier agreements and commercial terms, and drive multi-sourcing initiatives to reduce single-source risk.
