Mercor is an AI data company on a mission to organize human intelligence to power the AI economy. The company operates a platform where millions of domain experts are paid to train frontier AI models, and serves Fortune 500 companies through its Enterprise offering. Mercor is a profitable Series C company valued at $10 billion, expanding its operations into Mexico.
As a Strategic Project Lead, you will own high-impact projects end-to-end for some of the world's leading AI labs and technology companies. You'll supervise Strategic Project Associates and coordinate large networks of domain experts across fields including software engineering, medicine, law, science, and business. Project portfolios can generate over $10 million in annual revenue and involve more than 1,000 contributors.
Key responsibilities include: leading complex projects from customer conversations through delivery; translating customer needs into clear execution plans; developing and mentoring Strategic Project Associates; building trusted customer relationships as a primary point of contact; using data and structured problem-solving to identify performance challenges and improvements; ensuring consistent quality and customer experience; collaborating with Operations, Engineering, and ML teams; and identifying expansion opportunities.
You should have 3-6 years of professional experience with a track record of owning and delivering complex projects in fast-moving environments. Strong problem-solving, people management, and analytical skills are essential. You'll need excellent English communication for working with international colleagues and customers. Experience in startups, consulting, strategy, operations, product, engineering, or Chief of Staff roles is valuable. Technical coding experience is not required, but comfort with data, learning new systems, and understanding AI-enabled workflows is important.
This is a hands-on leadership role offering significant responsibility, accelerated growth, and tangible impact on AI. The role is currently remote for Mexico City-based candidates, with plans to transition to in-person work once Mercor opens its Mexico City office.
