MinIO is seeking a Field CTO to serve as a premier technical ambassador bridging engineering innovation with strategic enterprise customer needs. This is a VP-level role focused on executive advisory, architectural leadership, and thought leadership in the AI and modern data infrastructure space.
Key Responsibilities:
- Executive Advisory & Evangelism: Act as a trusted technical advisor to C-level executives (CIOs, CTOs, CDOs) at Fortune 500 companies, articulating the strategic value of high-performance object storage in AI readiness and data democratization.
- Architectural Leadership: Design and validate complex, large-scale architectures for enterprise customers, guiding integration of MinIO into AI/ML pipelines and modern data lakehouse ecosystems.
- Industry Thought Leadership: Represent MinIO at major conferences, webinars, and meetups. Author technical whitepapers, reference architectures, and blog posts on object storage, generative AI, and modern analytics.
- Pre-Sales & Post-Sales Support: Partner with enterprise sales and customer success teams on high-stakes deals, unblocking technical objections and providing strategic guidance during PoCs and large-scale deployments.
- Product Strategy Feedback: Serve as the voice of the customer to product and engineering teams, translating market trends, customer pain points, and emerging AI/analytics patterns into actionable product requirements.
Required Experience:
- 10+ years in technical leadership roles (Enterprise Architect, Chief Architect, VP of Engineering, or previous Field CTO)
- Demonstrated customer-facing or evangelist experience presenting to both technical and C-level audiences
- Deep architectural understanding of Generative AI, LLMs, RAG workflows, and vector databases (Milvus, Qdrant, Pinecone)
- Strong knowledge of AI/ML data pipelines and frameworks (PyTorch, TensorFlow, Ray, Hugging Face)
- Understanding of GPU data starvation challenges and high-throughput storage solutions
- Expertise in Open Table Formats (Apache Iceberg, Apache Hudi, Delta Lake) and integration with object storage
- Proficiency with modern query engines and compute frameworks (Trino, Presto, Apache Spark, Flink, StarRocks)
- Strong command of Kubernetes, containerization, and cloud-native orchestration
- Deep understanding of AWS S3 API, RESTful APIs, and distributed systems design
