Salary: USD 83,628 - 109,761.75 / annual
Oscar Health is seeking a Strategic Insights Senior Analyst, Data Analytics to join the Pharmacy Program Management team. This role partners across the organization to identify and manage business inefficiencies, supporting business units in scoping, analyzing, and monitoring performance of key financial and utilization metrics. You will work independently with stakeholders to define analytical questions, scope analyses, and deliver insights that reduce medical waste and improve healthcare affordability and quality for Oscar's members.
The position requires a hybrid work schedule with 3 days in-office per week at the New York City office. Thursdays are mandatory in-office days for team meetings and events; the other two office days are flexible. You will report to the Senior Director, Pharmacy Program Management.
Key responsibilities include:
- Analyzing data to support business teams in making informed, data-driven decisions
- Translating findings into clear, compelling narratives for non-technical colleagues
- Overseeing creation and maintenance of operational and analytical dashboards, updating them as user needs evolve
- Creating models and tools to identify inefficiencies and generate actionable insights
- Collaborating across the organization to identify improvement actions and monitor initiative impact
- Supporting strategic projects as assigned to meet business needs
- Ensuring compliance with applicable laws and regulations
Requirements:
- 1+ years of technical work experience using analytical tools and writing analytical reports
- 1+ years demonstrated ability to work with large datasets and distill analyses into relevant insights with structured, systematic thinking
- Experience communicating updates and resolutions to customers and partners around business reporting impact and requirements, demonstrated through at least 2 reporting projects requiring communication between technical and non-technical users
- Experience in SQL with ability to filter, aggregate, and build CTEs, OR proficiency in R or Python including Pandas, for loops, and statistical tests
- Proficiency in Google Sheets or Excel with ability to use VLookup, nested if statements, and connected Sheets
- 1+ years experience in healthcare, finance, or insurance industry
Bonus qualifications:
- 1+ years experience in healthcare analytics and reporting
- 1+ years experience managing value-based contracts at a payer or provider organization (ACO, CIN, MSO)
- 1+ years experience developing dashboards and working with Looker or other business intelligence/data visualization tools
- Exposure to healthcare contract negotiations, risk adjustment, ACA marketplace, quality of care, or population health
