Salary: USD 91,659.6 - 120,303.23 / annual
Oscar Health is seeking a Strategic Insights Associate, Data Analytics to join the Pharmacy Program Management team. You will partner across the organization to identify and manage business inefficiencies proactively, supporting business units in scoping, analyzing, and monitoring performance of key financial and utilization metrics.
In this role, you will independently drive the scoping and execution of analytical requests, working with stakeholders to define key questions, scope methodologies, and deliver results. You will own insights generation and serve as the first point of contact for senior managers and associate directors within a major business unit. Your responsibilities include analyzing data to support informed decision-making, translating complex findings into clear narratives for non-technical colleagues, and packaging results in compelling presentations.
You will recognize opportunities to enhance operational and analytical dashboards, define requirements as user needs evolve, and identify opportunities to create models and tools that surface healthcare inefficiencies. Collaboration across the organization is essential—you will own stakeholder relationships with managers and senior managers to identify improvement actions and monitor initiative impact. You may also support other strategic projects as assigned.
The position is based in the Tempe, AZ office with a hybrid schedule requiring 3 days in-office per week. Thursdays are mandatory for team meetings and events; your other two office days are flexible.
REQUIREMENTS:
- 3+ years of technical work experience using analytical tools and writing analytical reports
- 2+ years demonstrated ability to work with large datasets and distill analyses into relevant insights with structured, systematic thinking
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, demonstrated by 5+ examples/projects of presenting analysis to Leadership (Director+)
- 2+ years experience in SQL (filtering, aggregating, building CTEs) OR proficiency in R or Python (Pandas, for loops, statistical tests)
- 1+ years experience with Google Sheets or Excel (VLookup, nested if statements, connected Sheets)
- 1+ years experience in healthcare, finance, or insurance industry
BONUS QUALIFICATIONS:
- 2+ years experience in healthcare analytics and reporting
- 2+ years managing value-based contracts at a payer or provider organization (ACO, CIN, MSO)
- 2+ years developing dashboards and working with Looker or other BI/data visualization tools
- Exposure to healthcare contract negotiations, risk adjustment, ACA marketplace, quality of care, or population health
