Trulioo, a global leader in digital identity verification, is seeking a Strategic Financial Analyst to serve as the financial architect for the company's biggest strategic initiatives. Reporting to the VP of Financial Planning & Analysis, this is a high-ownership role focused on building financial models that drive strategic growth, forecasting, and capital allocation rather than routine reporting.
You will work side-by-side with the VP of FP&A on critical financial planning and strategic analysis. Key responsibilities include leading the annual operating planning process for business segments, managing rolling forecasts to provide dynamic forward-looking insights, analyzing monthly and quarterly performance against budgets with clear variance explanations, and collaborating with executive leadership on board materials and investor updates.
On the strategic side, you'll deeply analyze unit economics and margin drivers (transaction volumes, pricing structures, product mix) to identify levers impacting EBITDA. You'll partner cross-functionally with Sales, Product, Operations, and Customer Success to model growth initiatives, and construct sophisticated multi-scenario financial models for M&A diligence, integration planning, and strategic expansion.
A critical aspect of this role is leveraging AI and data infrastructure. You'll maintain KPI frameworks and automated dashboards, ensure financial data integrity by aggregating information from diverse sources, and use advanced LLMs and AI tools (Claude or similar) to accelerate workflows, automate reporting pipelines, optimize forecasting models, and flag transaction anomalies.
Trulioo is headquartered in Vancouver with strategic hubs in San Diego and Dublin. The role operates on a hybrid model with three days per week in the Vancouver office. REQUIREMENTS:
- 1–2 years of experience in corporate development, private equity, or junior investment banking, with firsthand experience building and defending robust financial models during due diligence and high-level leadership meetings
- 2–3 years of hands-on analyst or FP&A experience in fintech, payments, or transaction-focused industries
- Deep expertise in modeling unit economics, transaction volumes, and pricing structures; understanding of cohort profitability, CAC/LTV dynamics, and pricing impact analysis
- Exceptional attention to detail and analytical rigor; ability to detect discrepancies in complex models and stress-test assumptions by working backward from outputs
- AI-native mindset with practical experience using Claude or similar tools to accelerate deliverables, prompt financial models, interpret data outputs, and automate routine analytical tasks
- Intellectual curiosity and drive to understand what drives outcomes, not just report them
NICE TO HAVE:
- Prior exposure to identity verification, compliance, or regulatory fintech (payments, KYC, AML)
- Experience in scaling or hypergrowth companies
