OpenLoop is a telehealth platform company founded by Dr. Jon Lensing and Christian Williams, delivering virtual care solutions across all 50 US states. The company is seeking a Senior Accountant to join the finance team in a hybrid role (remote or at headquarters in Des Moines, IA). You will work closely with the Controller and accounting team on all aspects of finance and accounting operations. The role balances core general ledger ownership with specialized technical accounting exposure in complex areas including revenue recognition (ASC 606), lease accounting (ASC 842), stock-based compensation (ASC 718), and business combinations/M&A (ASC 805). Key responsibilities include: - Day-to-day accounting duties: accounts payable, accounts receivable, cash management, payroll, fixed assets, and general ledger - Monthly close process: posting journal entries, performing account reconciliations, and conducting ad-hoc financial analysis - Analyzing and researching proper accounting treatments for complex transactions and contracts - Managing complex schedules and compliance updates for lease accounting and inventory accounting models - Interfacing with external auditors during audit engagements - Building relationships across departments to ensure high-quality service and work product - Supporting special projects and ad-hoc assignments OpenLoop operates with a flat organizational structure emphasizing autonomy, competence, and belonging. QUALIFICATIONS (Required): - Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field - 4–6 years of progressive accounting/finance experience, ideally combining public accounting and private industry backgrounds - Direct hands-on experience applying ASC 606 (Revenue Recognition), ASC 842 (Leases), ASC 718 (Stock-Based Compensation), and ASC 805 (Business Combinations) - Excellent knowledge of GAAP - Demonstrated ability to independently manage month-end close schedules and complex account reconciliations - Prior experience with M&A accounting, business combinations, or technical accounting implementation projects (e.g., purchase price allocation, valuation) - Advanced Microsoft Excel skills (VLOOKUP, pivot tables, etc.) - Trustworthiness and ability to maintain confidentiality - Excellent communication skills and ability to present to senior management - Precision and detail orientation with strong analytical skills - Proven ability to identify and drive process and system improvements - Ability to navigate ambiguity, prioritize competing tasks, and operate effectively in a scaling startup or high-growth company PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: - Industry exposure in Tech, Software, Healthtech, or Manufacturing/Inventory environments - CPA and/or MBA
