Until is a Series A biotech company (~50 people, $100M raised) building reversible cryopreservation technology for organ transplantation and future whole-body preservation. The company is entering a period of meaningful growth: expanding facilities, advancing new programs, scaling the team, and preparing for the next fundraising round. You will be Until's first dedicated strategic finance hire, sitting close to the CEO and leadership team. This is a high-ownership role where you own the company's financial picture end-to-end and translate ambitious scientific plans into clear operating decisions. Key responsibilities: - Build and own the long-range financial model, operating forecast, and scenario planning across facility buildout, new programs, hiring, and capital needs. Ensure every number traces back to clear assumptions. - Partner with the Director of Strategy to evaluate go-to-market strategy for a first-of-its-kind product. - Work closely with the CEO on future fundraising, including financial models, investor materials, diligence support, and data-room management. - Help shape capital strategy across venture financing, non-dilutive grants and government awards, and strategic partnerships. - Own core finance operations as the company grows: budgeting, vendor spend, cap table administration, 409A coordination, and partnership with external accounting team. - Translate complex analyses into clear recommendations for scientists, founders, and investors. This role offers the chance to apply rigorous finance training to tangible, varied, mission-driven work in a fast-moving environment. Requirements: - 4+ years of experience in investment banking, private equity, growth equity, corporate development, strategic finance, or another investing- or transaction-intensive role. - Exceptional financial modeling skills: ability to build models from scratch, develop well-supported assumptions, and distinguish between precision and false precision. - Demonstrated ability to walk through a model in depth, explaining the question it answered, structure, key assumptions, and lessons learned from iterations. - Ability to produce thoughtful back-of-the-envelope estimates quickly and explain reasoning clearly to scientists, founders, or investors. - Desire for broader ownership than a traditional finance seat; comfort with fixing budget lines, evaluating major capital decisions, and building board-ready analyses. - Comfort being a one-person function initially with strong judgment to prioritize high-impact work. - Genuine interest in the science and curiosity about how it drives the business. - Mission-driven mindset and desire to bring finance expertise to ambitious, meaningful work.
