Crusoe is a vertically integrated AI infrastructure company that owns and operates the full stack—from energy generation to AI compute—to power the world's most ambitious AI workloads. The company is solving the power bottleneck in AI compute through an energy-first approach.
You will serve as the primary accounting lead for Crusoe's most critical and complex revenue streams in a pivotal, build-from-the-ground-up role. This position directly impacts financial integrity and scalability by transforming raw deal information into robust, auditable accounting processes.
Key responsibilities include:
- Own technical accounting positions on non-standard transactions, serving as the subject matter expert on ASC 606, ASC 842, and other relevant GAAP guidance
- Conduct detailed contract analysis to identify clauses and terms that materially impact accounting conclusions (acceptance criteria, termination clauses, variable pricing, financing components, principal vs. agent indicators)
- Lead and coach a team of accountants toward reaching sound technical conclusions independently through critical thinking and mentorship
- Collaborate cross-functionally with Legal, Project & Cost Controls, Construction Managers, and Finance to provide real-time accounting guidance on deal structuring and evolving business models
- Operationalize complex technical assessments into clear, actionable processes for billing, collections, and financial reporting; build processes from scratch and drive automation
- Lead key aspects of month-end close for assigned revenue streams, including journal entries, reconciliations, and flux analyses
- Serve as primary point of contact for external auditors, preparing comprehensive documentation and communicating complex accounting treatments
- Champion continuous improvement initiatives to enhance internal controls, improve data integrity, and drive automation
This is a full-time, exempt position reporting to the finance leadership team.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance (required)
- Certified Public Accountant (CPA) certification (required)
- Eight or more years of relevant accounting experience
- Deep expertise in US GAAP, particularly ASC 606 and ASC 842, with proven ability to apply guidance to highly complex, non-standard transactions
- Exceptional contract review and analysis skills
- Proven track record of independently researching technical accounting topics and documenting robust accounting memoranda
- Demonstrated experience operationalizing accounting processes, driving efficiency, and implementing controls in fast-paced environments
- Self-starter with strong sense of ownership, ability to navigate ambiguity with minimal supervision
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills to articulate complex concepts to diverse audiences
Bonus qualifications:
- Public accounting experience
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel
- Experience with Sage Intacct, Stripe, or equivalent ERP and billing systems
- Prior experience coaching or managing a team of accountants
- Revenue accounting experience in energy, infrastructure, construction, or data centers
