Salary: USD 165,000 - 200,000 / annual

Crusoe is a vertically integrated AI infrastructure company that owns and operates the full stack—from energy generation to AI compute—to power the world's most ambitious AI workloads. The company is solving the power bottleneck in AI compute with an energy-first approach. You will serve as the primary accounting lead for Crusoe's most critical and complex revenue streams in a pivotal, build-from-the-ground-up role. You will directly impact financial integrity and scalability by transforming raw deal information into robust, auditable accounting processes. You will advise Legal, Project & Cost Controls, Construction Managers, and Finance in real time as deal structures and business models evolve. Key responsibilities include: - Serve as the subject matter expert on technical accounting, including ASC 606 (revenue recognition) and ASC 842 (lease accounting), proactively researching and applying relevant GAAP guidance to unique transactions - Conduct detailed contract analysis to identify clauses and terms that materially impact accounting conclusions (acceptance criteria, termination clauses, variable pricing, financing components, principal vs. agent indicators) - Coach and mentor your team to independently research and reach sound technical conclusions on complex matters - Collaborate cross-functionally with Legal, Project & Cost Controls, Construction Managers, and Finance to provide real-time accounting guidance on deal structuring - Operationalize complex technical assessments into clear, actionable processes for billing, collections, and financial reporting; build processes from scratch and lead automation efforts - Lead key aspects of month-end close for assigned revenue streams, including journal entries, reconciliations, and flux analyses - Serve as the primary point of contact for external auditors, preparing comprehensive documentation and communicating complex accounting treatments - Champion initiatives to enhance internal controls, improve data integrity, and drive automation This is a full-time, exempt position based in San Francisco. REQUIREMENTS: - Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance (required) - Certified Public Accountant (CPA) certification (required) - Eight or more years of relevant accounting experience - Deep and demonstrable expertise in US GAAP, particularly ASC 606 and ASC 842, with proven ability to apply guidance to highly complex, non-standard transactions - Exceptional contract review and analysis skills with ability to identify critical accounting implications from legal documentation - Proven track record of independently researching technical accounting topics, forming well-reasoned conclusions, and documenting robust accounting memoranda - Demonstrated experience operationalizing accounting processes, driving efficiency, and implementing controls in fast-paced environments - Self-starter with unwavering sense of ownership and ability to navigate ambiguity with confidence and minimal supervision - Strong communication and interpersonal skills to articulate complex accounting concepts to diverse audiences including senior leadership and non-finance teams BONUS QUALIFICATIONS: - Public accounting experience - Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel - Experience with Sage Intacct, Stripe, or equivalent ERP and billing systems - Prior experience coaching or managing a team of accountants - Revenue accounting experience in energy, infrastructure, construction, or data centers
