Counsel Health is building an AI-native medical group that combines custom AI tools with in-house physicians to deliver personalized healthcare at scale. Founded in 2023, the company has raised $35M+ from top-tier VCs (a16z, Google Ventures, Pear VC) and is on track to serve hundreds of thousands of patients within the next year.
As Senior Finance Analyst, you will be the analytical engine of the Finance & Strategy team, reporting to the Controller. This is a high-visibility individual contributor role with significant ownership across the company's financial planning and strategic decision-making.
Key responsibilities include:
**Financial Planning & Analysis**: Lead annual budgeting, rolling forecasts, and monthly variance analysis. Build and maintain consolidated P&L, headcount models, and cash flow forecasts. Develop revenue models capturing Counsel's multi-channel (DTC and B2B) dynamics. Design KPI dashboards tracking member acquisition, retention, visit volume, unit economics, and clinical utilization. Partner with Sales, Clinical Ops, Product, and People teams to gather assumptions and ensure accountability.
**Financial Modeling**: Build integrated 3-statement models for scenario planning, fundraising, and board presentations. Develop unit-economics models (CAC, LTV, payback period, gross margin) across channels. Create cohort and retention analyses to inform pricing decisions. Model state-expansion economics and build ROI/payback models for enterprise partnerships.
**Strategic Finance**: Prepare board decks, investor updates, and management presentations. Support fundraising diligence and investor relations. Conduct market sizing, competitive benchmarking, and business case analysis for new products and verticals. Analyze expansion opportunities and build deal models.
**Special Projects**: Lead finance workstreams on market launches and product expansions. Build reporting infrastructure and evaluate financial planning tools. Serve as analytical partner to non-finance leaders.
You bring 5+ years in FP&A, investment banking, PE, or strategic finance with expert-level financial modeling skills. You've owned full forecast cycles end-to-end and have a track record of influencing decisions with financial analysis. You're comfortable using AI tools as part of your workflow and excel at written and verbal communication with leadership. Bonus experience includes subscription/recurring revenue models, healthcare/digital health background, or Series A-C startup experience.
