OpenAI is seeking a Strategic Finance Partner to serve as a trusted advisor to regional General Managers across the company's rapidly expanding international operations. This role will shape the financial and operating model for OpenAI's Consumer, Enterprise, Developer, and Hardware businesses across EMEA, APAC, and LATAM regions.
You will own an integrated view of international performance spanning countries, regions, and business units, guiding growth, resource allocation, and investment decisions. Key responsibilities include partnering with regional GMs and functional leaders to shape country strategies across Product, Sales, Growth, Brand Marketing, Partnerships, Communications, and Policy. You'll lead regional financial planning and forecasting, tracking budgets, headcount, capacity, investments, and risks against company plans.
You will build and operationalize investment frameworks across markets, channels, and programs, evaluating expected returns, opportunity costs, and tradeoffs to recommend funding priorities and timing. You'll create regional and country scorecards and lead regular business reviews that track key metrics, surface risks, drive decisions, and ensure accountability. Additionally, you'll design decision rights and escalation paths across the matrixed organization to enable rapid decision-making while ensuring appropriate cross-market review.
This role requires partnering with Marketing, Growth, and Data Science teams to strengthen acquisition and retention measurement and translate results into executive recommendations. You'll build scalable, AI-enabled workflows that improve reporting, forecasting, and investment evaluation across regions.
The ideal candidate brings 10+ years of progressive experience in Strategic Finance, investment banking, consulting, private equity, or related operating roles, with at least 2 years of Strategic Finance experience at a high-growth technology company. You should have exceptional financial modeling and analytical skills, experience managing complex budgets, and a track record of serving as a trusted thought partner to executives. Fluency across Consumer and B2B business models, international market dynamics, and GTM investment is essential. Experience designing planning processes, operating cadences, scorecards, or investment frameworks is highly valued. You should demonstrate high agency, sound judgment, and comfort building structure in ambiguous, fast-moving environments. Enthusiasm for AI and experience partnering with Data Science teams is important; SQL familiarity is a plus.
This is a hybrid role based in OpenAI's San Francisco headquarters, requiring 3 days in the office per week. Periodic international travel is expected. Relocation assistance is available for new employees.
