You'll join the GTM Finance team as a Strategic Finance professional, sitting at the center of critical business decisions. This role is highly strategic because Baseten's business model is usage-based—growth, pricing, margin, and capacity decisions are fundamentally financial decisions. You'll report into the finance team and partner directly with GTM leadership on initiatives that shape the company's trajectory.
Key responsibilities include owning financial planning, forecasting, and budgeting for the GTM organization; building and maintaining financial models across revenue, S&M spend, headcount, and strategic initiatives; analyzing usage-based business metrics (ARR, gross margin, consumption trends, retention, GTM efficiency); partnering with GTM leaders to set targets, evaluate growth initiatives, shape pricing, and design sales compensation; preparing board materials and investor updates; and improving financial reporting and dashboards to support scaling.
You'll work cross-functionally to translate ambiguous business questions into actionable insights. The ideal candidate has 3–7 years of experience in strategic finance at high-growth companies, PE/VC investing, or investment banking. Strong financial modeling, analytical, and communication skills are essential. Experience with usage-based business models, sales finance, sales compensation, or AI/ML infrastructure is a plus. Advanced Excel/Google Sheets proficiency required; SQL or BI tools experience is valued.
