Snowflake is seeking a Strategic Finance Analyst II to serve as a financial partner embedded within product organizations. This high-visibility role sits at the intersection of product strategy and financial analysis, providing a unique vantage point to influence how the company scales its business.
You will develop and maintain financial models that track revenue and cost drivers, enabling accurate forecasting and real-time visibility into workload contribution margins. You'll drive revenue and margin insights by analyzing historical and forward-looking trends for revenue, COGS, and margin to provide actionable recommendations that influence pricing, packaging, and go-to-market strategies.
Key responsibilities include partnering with Product Managers, Engineering, and Sales to evaluate new product features and market opportunities, supporting business case development with data-driven insights into revenue potential and profitability. You will master complex data structures and business drivers using SQL to find the "why" behind the numbers and deliver timely, accurate insights. The role emphasizes leveraging Snowflake Intelligence and AI/SQL daily to automate manual reporting and accelerate insight discovery.
You'll build scalable reporting and tooling by translating data findings into automated, high-visibility dashboards that Product and Finance leaders rely on for decision-making. Additionally, you'll optimize cloud spend and infrastructure by identifying and resolving abnormalities to maintain healthy margins and provide recommendations to reduce COGS/OpEx.
The team's North Star is to increase workload contribution margin dollars above current forecasts by serving as an objective, full-stack business partner. This role requires thinking like an investor or financial analyst first and using technical tools to accelerate work. You'll navigate ambiguity, drive workstreams, anticipate next steps, and collaborate with executives to turn complex data into decisive action.
REQUIREMENTS:
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Data Science, or related field
- 2–5 years of experience in Finance, Investment Banking, or Consulting
- Background in SaaS, Cloud, Data, or Fintech environments strongly preferred, especially with experience partnering with Product, Engineering, and Sales as a finance analyst
- Strong financial and analytical skills with proven ability to build financial models and analyze qualitative and quantitative data
- SQL proficiency or high aptitude for navigating technical systems and data structures; ability to quickly become proficient in understanding complex schemas and data logic
- Prior experience with financial modeling tools and BI platforms is a plus
- Experience analyzing revenue, COGS, and margin trends
- Familiarity with Salesforce or other GTM systems to reason about historical and forward-looking trends is highly beneficial
- Ownership and problem-solving mindset; ability to work through ambiguity and take initiative
- Exceptional communication skills; ability to translate complex data into actionable insights for non-technical audiences and present to VP/C-level leadership
- Continuous improvement mentality and ability to juggle competing priorities in a fast-paced environment
