Anthropic is seeking a Strategic Deals Lead for Cloud Compute to shape the company's long-term approach to AI infrastructure, compute capacity, and strategic ecosystem partnerships. In this role, you will originate, structure, negotiate, and close deals that execute Anthropic's compute strategy. You will build and manage relationships across the emerging compute ecosystem to identify and execute opportunities that expand access to infrastructure required to train and serve frontier AI systems. The compute market is fast-moving and structurally complex, with providers varying widely in scale, financial structure, and commercial model. You will develop deep expertise across ecosystem players, commercial constructs, market standards, and the interplay between infrastructure and financing for scaling compute. Key responsibilities include building and managing a pipeline of capacity across the integrated compute ecosystem; maintaining executive-level relationships with commercial, finance, and legal counterparts at providers; leading the full deal lifecycle from initial engagement through close; bringing capital markets and finance expertise to transactions; partnering with infrastructure and technical teams to translate compute requirements into commercial terms; developing market intelligence on the cloud and integrated compute landscape; representing Anthropic externally with corporate executives and investment banks; and driving internal alignment on transaction terms and strategic priorities. You should have a background in investment banking, private equity, or infrastructure investing with direct experience in data center, cloud, or technology sector transactions. You must have a personal track record of originating, structuring, and closing cloud capacity or infrastructure transactions as a commercial, financing, or investing principal. Deep familiarity with the compute ecosystem—including how different providers price and contract, how capacity commitments are structured, and how the integrated compute market operates—is essential. A working understanding of financing and infrastructure requirements of compute projects is required. Preferred qualifications include 6-8+ years in investment banking, infrastructure investing, or principal finance roles with ownership of cloud, data center, or compute transactions; experience managing multiple high-value transactions simultaneously; demonstrated ability to build senior-level relationships with counterparts at commercially sophisticated organizations; strong financial modeling skills; comfort in fast-moving, ambiguous environments; and genuine interest in AI infrastructure and Anthropic's mission.
